Charitable Remainder Trust
A charitable remainder trust (CRT) can be an excellent way to benefit yourself, your spouse or other family members and provide financial support to your favorite charitable causes. A testamentary CRT through your will or living trust can provide income for your family. After all the payments are made, the remaining trust assets will be given to the charity.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A charitable gift annuity is a contract involving you and a charity. You make a gift to the charity in exchange for fixed payments for life for one or two people. After all the payments are made, the charity receives the gift. Unlike a charitable remainder trust, part of the gift may be used immediately by the charity.
Please engage in all planned giving discussions with a financial, tax or legal expert. If you are in need of counsel, we can provide you with a list of resources in the community. Please email plannedgiving@cafb.org for more information.
