We’ve all heard that “it takes a village to raise a child” and that very well may be true but what we have learned in more than 25 years of working with children who have been abused and neglected is that
it takes an entire community working together to help children and families who have been affected by child abuse, put their lives back together and heal.
Through the help of our partners in law enforcement, the County Attorney’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, Children’s Protective Services (CPS), and with the assistance of our many dedicated volunteers and the entire Fort Bend County Community, we Provide a Voice, Heal the Hurt, Break the Cycle and are truly improving outcomes for children and families.

Sports Clips of Greatwood/RiverPark
Sports Clips manager Brittany Lodrigue not only offered to prepare a basket, if he was willing to wait a week or so, but she handed him a large stack of more than 100 coupons for free haircuts for the children served by Child Advocates of Fort Bend.
Lockwood had been getting his hair cut at the store for years, but when he met Brittany last year, they started talking about charities in Fort Bend and Sports Clips’ desire to get more involved. When Lockwood told Lodrigue about Child Advocates of Fort Bend (CAFB) and the work that they do with abused and neglected children in Fort Bend, she was eager to help. “I just love giving back to people. It makes me happy and it makes by team happy,” said Lodrigue.
“I am so grateful for their auction basket donation and was delighted by the free haircuts for the children. Little things like a good haircut can make a big difference in the way the children see themselves and can affect the way they approach school and their lives,” stated Lockwood.
